Jungle Savoury oats bowl

Want to do something different with Oats?  Looking for a healthy option for your menu?  Look no further.  This recipe features savoury oats and our iconic Master Chef Spicy Pap Relish.  
Ingredients
Yield: 4 portions

Oatmeal:

  • 90 g Jungle Oats, Large Tiger Oat Flakes
  • 500 ml Water
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Pepper

Mince:

  • Spray and cook
  • 300 g Extra lean mince
  • 40 g Onion, chopped
  • 1 Cloves Garlic, finely
  • Salt to taste

Sauce and toppings:

  • 120 ml Master Chef Spicy Pap Relish
  • 4 Poached /  Soft boiled eggs
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped
  •   Micro herbs
  •   Baby radish, thinly sliced                                             
Method
  1. Combine the oats, water, salt, and pepper in a large saucepan of medium-high heat. Once the mixture starts to bubble, turn down to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. While the oats are cooking, spray the pan with Spray and Cook to a sauté pan over medium heat. Once heated, add the onion and sauté until translucent. . Add in the garlic and cook for another minute. Add in the Lean mince and break up into pieces with a wooden spoon. Cook for about 5 minutes until the meat is cooked through. Season with salt and pepper and set aside for assembly.
  3. Heat Master Chef Pap Relish and set aside for assembly.
  4. To serve: Add equal portions of oatmeal to 4 bowls. Top with about ¼ cup of the mince mixture, 1-2 tablespoons of tomato sauce and 1 poached egg.
  5. Garnish with micro herbs, parsley and thinly sliced baby radish.
