Beacon mmmMallow popcorn treats

Popcorn and marshmallow treats offer a delightful twist on traditional snacks, making them a perfect addition to the hospitality or contract catering trade. These treats provide a unique combination of sweet and savoury flavours, appealing to a wide range of tastes and preferences among guests.

Ingredients

Yield: 2 g-pans

  • 300 g  Lion popcorn (already popped and salted)
  • 15 ml  Oil (for hands to prevent sticking)
  • 400 g  Beacon mmmMallows
  • 50 g Butter
  •   Spray and Cook

Optional:

Customize your popcorn treats, add any of the below to the popcorn mixture:
Jelly Tots 
Any Maynards sweeties 
Chopped up Beacon White chocolate 
Sprinkles 

Method
  1. Line two G-pans with wax paper and lightly spray with a non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Prepare Lion popcorn and season with salt to taste.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt mmmMallows and butter until smooth and creamy.
  4. Mix the salted popcorn with the melted marshmallow mixture until evenly coated. (Tip: Apply a small amount of oil to your hands or spatula to prevent sticking.)
  5. Transfer the warm and pliable popcorn mixture to the prepared G-pans, pressing it down firmly. Cover with cling wrap and allow it to cool.
  6. Once cooled, turn out the popcorn treats onto a cutting board and cut into 21 squares or desired shapes.
  7. Optional: Add a decorative touch by drizzling melted chocolate, sprinkling with colourful sprinkles, or getting creative with your favourite toppings.
  8. Serve on a decorative serving tray for guests to enjoy, or package individually for a delightful treat to take away.
